THE STORY
EIGHT YEARS IN THE FIELD
Caesar raised the Thirteenth in 57 BC and did not release them. Through eight years of the Gallic Wars they marched, dug, built and fought — Alesia, the Belgae, the long grinding campaigns that made a legion out of recruits. By the time history needed them, they had already been forged.
The Thirteenth earned Gemina — the Twin — when the legion was later merged with another, and it endured under that name for centuries after Caesar was gone. Loyalty measured not in a single night but in decades of service.
This Black Edition carries that longer story: the shadow of the empire, cut with Pompeian Red side panels.
The front bears the lion — the emblem of the Legion itself. The back carries the numeral XIII and the command given at the water's edge:
"Forward, where the gods and the arrogance of our enemies call us."

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between the Black and Pompeian Red editions? Same legion, same lion, same XIII, same command across the back. The Black is the understated one, with red side panels — built to be worn as training kit. The Pompeian Red is the statement version in the colour of Rome's frescoes, with yellow accents.
What does GEMINA mean? The Twin. Roman legions that were merged with another unit carried the title, and the Thirteenth kept it for the rest of its service.
Is it suitable for outdoor training? Yes. UPF50+ and moisture-wicking, built for sessions that run long in open air.

Washing
Machine wash cold, inside-out, gentle cycle with milddetergent and similar colors. Use non-chlorine bleach, only when necessary. Nofabric softeners.

Cool iron inside-out if necessary. Do not iron decoration.
