Augustus raised the Praetorian Guard, Cohors Praetoria, in 27 BC: nine cohorts, 4,500 to 6,000 men strong, the only soldiers permitted to carry a sword in the emperor's presence. They endured as Rome's elite protectors for over three hundred years.

Product Care
Washing
Machine wash cold, inside-out, gentle cycle with milddetergent and similar colors. Use non-chlorine bleach, only when necessary. Nofabric softeners.
Drying
Avoid tumble dry. Hang-dry for longest life. Do not dryclean.
Ironing
Cool iron inside-out if necessary. Do not iron decoration.
