THE STORY
ONE NIGHT AT THE RIVER
January, 49 BC. The Rubicon was a shallow stream in northern Italy and legally the end of Caesar's command — to cross it under arms was to declare war on Rome itself. He had one legion with him. The Thirteenth.
He crossed. The Republic did not survive it.
The colour is named for the deep red found on the walls of Pompeii — the pigment Rome painted its own houses in, preserved by the ash that buried them. Not a decorative choice: the actual red of the ancient world, recovered from a city that stopped in a single afternoon.
The front bears the lion — the emblem of the Legion itself. The back carries the numeral XIII and the command given at the water's edge:
"Forward, where the gods and the arrogance of our enemies call us."

TRAINING APPLICATIONS
This is the one that gets seen. Worn for competition day, for the walk to the mats, for training where being identifiable is the point. Built for MMA, boxing and powerlifting, and holds its colour through repeat washing rather than fading toward pink by the end of a season.
TACTICAL SIZING NOTE
Regular fit, cut true. Take your usual size for a standard drape. Size down one if you want it close to the body, which is how most wear it for competition.
TACTICAL PAIRING
Strong enough to lead an outfit. Pair with the Mars the Vengeful Hoodie in black so the red carries the eye. For the understated version of the same legion, take the Black edition.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between the Pompeian Red and Black editions? Same legion, same lion, same XIII, same command across the back. This one is the statement piece — Pompeian Red with yellow accents. The Black edition is the understated version with red side panels, built to wear as training kit.
Why is the colour called Pompeian Red? It is the deep red preserved on the frescoed walls of Pompeii, buried by Vesuvius in 79 AD. One of the few Roman colours we can still see exactly as Romans saw it.
Will the red fade with washing? Wash cold and inside-out and it holds. The recycled polyester takes colour through the fibre rather than sitting on the surface.

Product Care
Washing
Machine wash cold, inside-out, gentle cycle with milddetergent and similar colors. Use non-chlorine bleach, only when necessary. Nofabric softeners.
Drying
Avoid tumble dry. Hang-dry for longest life. Do not dryclean.
Ironing
Cool iron inside-out if necessary. Do not iron decoration.
