The CVLTVS HONOR VIRTVS Tank Top carries the full CVLTVS HONOR VIRTVS artwork by Raf The Might, the artist behind work for Slayer, Behemoth, Ozzy Osbourne and Lamb of God. On the front, IRON IMPERIVM above the horned mask of an enraged faun, flanked by two griffins over a CVLTVS HONOR VIRTVS banner. Down the back, IRON IMPERIVM in tall vertical letters between two winged Victories, one eagle-headed, one wolf-headed. CULTURE, VIRTUE, HONOUR
CVLTVS is not "cult". It is the Latin cultus, from colere: to till, to tend, to train. To the Romans, cultus corporis was the care and training of the body. VIRTVS, from vir, was courage proven under pressure. HONOR is what that courage earns. Rome raised temples to Honos and Virtus side by side outside the Porta Capena.
THE CREST: FRONT
The horned faun. Faunus was one of Rome's oldest gods, spirit of the wild woods beyond the farmed field, later merged with the horned Greek Pan. Pan's gift was terror: the sudden, blind fear that breaks a line, and the word panic carries his name. Here the face is the god angered.
The two griffins. Lion's body, eagle's head and wings. The Greeks gave them to Apollo and to Nemesis, and Rome carried Nemesis into the arena as the patron of gladiators; the Thraex gladiator's helmet crest ended in a griffin's head.
THE VICTORIES: BACK
Nike to the Greeks, Victoria to Rome: the goddess who crowns the victor. Both figures take the pose of the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and Raf The Might gives each one the head of a Roman standard: the eagle, the aquila of Jupiter that Gaius Marius made the sole standard of every legion, and the wolf, sacred to Mars, which marched beside the eagle as a legionary standard before Marius. Two standards, two Victories.

Is this the same design as the CVLTVS HONOR VIRTVS Tee?
Yes. The same Raf The Might artwork, front and back, on a sleeveless classic-cut tank.
How is it different from the CVLTVS HONOR VIRTVS Muscle Tank?
The muscle tank has a relaxed body and wide, low-cut armholes. This tank has a classic cut with standard armholes, and comes in Black, Navy, Royal Blue and White.
What does CVLTVS HONOR VIRTVS mean?
Culture, honour, virtue. CVLTVS is the Latin cultus, what you tend and train every day; it is the root of "culture", not "cult". VIRTVS is courage, HONOR is what it earns. The V replaces U as on Roman inscriptions.
